Handstand - Specialisation 3 (7,5 credits)
The Circus department at DOCH is offering the continuation of Handstand Specialisation 2.
This intensive master class gives you the opportunity to develop your technical skills in handstand in a thriving and inspiring environment where you will meet the teacher on a daily basis. The teacher is none other than Alexander “Sasha” Gavrilov, senior lecturer in circus and teacher for the Circus department at DOCH. Sasha has a life time experience as a handstand and hand to hand performer and has been teaching circus in Moscow, Circus Pilots at Cirkus Cirkör and here at DOCH for the past ten years. The structure will be that you have a handstand session of at least one hour per day as a group. In addition to that you will have an individual meeting with the coach to establish a plan of action that is particular to your own development. As a student of this course you will have access to our space and studios for continued work in handstand on your own or together with the others in the course during the period of the course.
General entry requirement for studies at the first cycle with the exeption of Svenska 1,2,3 and Engelska 6
Specific entry requirement
- Handstand, Specialisation 2 7,5hp
An explanation of General entry requirements:
”General Entry requirements” means that you should have finished i.e. Upper secondary school/High school/ gymnasiet which is the school/education in your country that makes you “eligible” for university studies. Whatever that may be you should be able to show the documents stating so. The exemption of Englis 6 means that you have to have English 5 or the equivalent.
Explanation of Prior learning/exemption:
If you don’t have grades from upper secondary school you can apply for recognition of prior learning. This means that you show that you have other types of education and also professional experience in circus and that this has given you a level of knowledge equivalent to Upper secondary school
You apply with our webbased system Mynetwork. There you also have to upload a film of max three minutes
If there are more eligible applicants than available places there will be a selection. Selection is based on the submitted documentation from eligible applicants. In the assessment we especially consider the experiences/activities that focus on, and have a relationship to, the contents of the course.
